CiFAR was founded in 2015 to support civil society to campaign across borders to prevent public asset theft and for accountable and transparent asset recovery. We work across the globe to help non-state actors investigate and advocate on large-scale cases of grand corruption and develop the tools and understandings needed for successful asset recovery.
CiFAR e.V. is looking for a full-time intern starting ideally in September or October for 3 – 6 months. The internship must be a compulsory part of studies in Germany (“Pflichtpraktikum”) and must be contained either within the regulations of study (Studienordnung) or attested to by the relevant secretariat.
Our work is often complex, but we strive to also make our organisation somewhere people enjoy working and are able to balance this with the rest of their lives. We’re based in Berlin, a lively and relaxed city, which is also the home to several other organisations working on good governance. Your tasks
Working under the supervision of one of our directors, you will develop your skills in civil society and anti-corruption work, with a specific focus on social media and communication. During the internship, you will work on:
• Building up the communication and social media profile of the organisation
• Designing ways to bring our messages to social media audiences, including producing content
• Developing a communication campaign around our topics of focus
• Developing ideas for individual giving campaigns

Your requirements
• Matriculated in a German university and with a compulsory internship requirement
• Studying communication or a related field and interested in engagement with civil society
• Ideally you have experience in social media campaigning
• Interest in fighting grand corruption and for the return of the proceeds of crime to the victims of corruption
• Fluency in English required, knowledge of German, Spanish and/or Portuguese an asset
